BBC news:

Famed American painter Cy Twombly, who first found the limelight with his calligraphic paintings in the late 1950s, has died in Rome aged 83.

The Us artist was widely known for his abstract works that used oil paint, pencil and crayon to create repetitive lines and scribbles on canvas.

Mr Twombly also painted a ceiling in the Louvre Museum in Paris 2010.

A spokesman for the Gagosian Gallery confirmed Mr Twombly, who had cancer for several years, died on Tuesday.

Owner Larry Gagosian paid tribute to ´a talent of such amazing scope and intensity´.

´The art world has lost a true genius and a completely original talent and for those fortunate enough to know him, a great human being´, he said in a statement.

I really need a black skirt! It is almost impossible to find a simple skirt. It is like they don't make these skirts anymore, they all have the wrong colour, the wrong fabric or are too long.

- I bought a Vanessa Bruno cabas bag in black for when I travel or when I have to carry books. But I also need a bag for citytrips etc. It should not be too large but still big enough for my camera. The leather from this Zara bag is really great, though I still doubt about getting it. The price(99€) is a little too high for me at the moment. While I also want to invest in other pieces.

Four items I need , I can purchase at my work. I work at Strenesse and their basic items are really nice!

I know that my graduation and my eighteenth birthday this summer would be the perfect occassion to buy a really special piece, like the IM boots or Chanel flats.

But when I see the list above I know lots of other clothing needs to be replaced too and could be a great investment for my wardrobe because next year when I'm going to university, my budget will probably not be huge, so this should be the opportunity to invest. Ohooh I knew I wasn't good at this.

First of all I want to thank all of my favorite bloggers(see the list, on the right) to keep me inspired during these very busy days. You all do a great job! I always love to read your style-related experiences.

My own latest experience has to do with the men's wardrobe, something I used to like only for men. A denim blouse. Which I have never thought of that it would suit my own style. But in fact, I like the contrast between two totally different kind of pieces. Like this lovely men on the picture, it is easy to wear underneath a blazer. You look chic but not overdressed.

While I'm a woman who(because of her curves) sometimes needs to highlight her feminine figure, the men's wardrobe(and the idea behind it) has always been very interesting to me.

A few key elements to build your own men's wardrobe:

1. A suit (navy or gray) - Even if you only need a suit a couple of times a year, you're glad to have it on hand when those occasions arise. Navy or gray suits are classic and neutral and can be dressed up or down. You can even wear the blazer with khakis or jeans. This is an item worth spending some money on.
2. Black shoes and belt - These can be worn with jeans and your suit. This is an essential combo. Before buying brown, get black. I think you will find you get more mileage out of them, especially when attending more formal or evening functions.
3. White dress shirt (good for day and night occasions) - White dress shirts look good on just about everybody. They look sharp and are versatile but should not to be worn as a casual shirt.
4. Blue blazer - A blue blazer is good for all year round and easily coordinates with pants and other items. If that bores you, try a tweed sport coat but also keep in mind that tweed is really only useful in fall and winter. Either way a blazer or tweed sport coat holds a look together.
5. Jeans - No explanation necessary here.
6. Overcoat - An overcoat doesn't necessarily mean a long coat. It also means 3/4-length or car coat length. This item really finishes an outfit and can be worn with everything including jeans. And everyone needs a coat in winter, right?
7. Briefcase - A briefcase does not necessarily mean a hard case. It can be soft, or messenger bag style. In a man is has to carry files and other documents, this is an essential.
8. Athletic wear - Even for non-athletic types, athletic wear is great for those lazy Sundays and dashes to the convenience store at wee hours of the morning.
9. Casual shirt - A casual shirt is a must have to wear with jeans or other casual pants.
10. Deconstructed suit - A deconstructed suit is great because it has a relaxed look but is pulled together.

A word of advice: start simple and expand according to lifestyle. Classics don't mean boring.

A little editorial I found in a one year old ELLE magazine made me remember why a few strong pieces can make a big impact on your style and that sadly these pieces are very hard to find. Because every potential garment goes through a personal screening test before buying, the only piece(where I'm satisfied of) is the boy blazer.

But I do have my eye on a white blouse and slouchy pair of trousers so who knows.

*what do you think of a denim blouse? I like the diversity of it, casual or chic.

While I'm wearing lots of black lately, the new spring collections make me want to wear something different, some other colours. I have been loving the light blue colour for years but the perfect shirt hasn't come along yet. I'm impressed with the colour palet of the new line from The Row. Long live simplicity!

aah I made a little mistake. This isn't a preview of the spring collection but already the pre fall collection. I still think the colours are great to wear in spring. But apparently we can enjoy it in fall too.

It's been a while ago but the lovely Fleurette tagged me to do a post about my bag. Lately I carry around this old leather bag. Though I don't wear this bag to school(I don't really like my schoolbag, still need to find a new one), it is very practical. Though this post should have been much more interesting but I don't like to carry lots of things with me. I don't like a heavy bag. So what do I carry in my bag?
- My wallet, which is quite old. But I just do not spend much money on wallets.
- My mobile phone
- Ipod, I'm lost without it.
- Keys
- Dayplanner, where I write almost everything in. I also have a notebook but I only carry it with me in my large tote.
- Lipstick
- And I am currently learning myself to speak Italian, so I carry a language pocketbook with me.

After all those years we finally have a white christmas. And now we finally have this white christmas, we can barely go outside. It is impossible to go to work, to travel. So now I'm obliged to stay at home. I spend my time watching movies, doing some homework and cleaning out my closet. I focus on the the things I want to save for. And maybe the weather will allow me to go to the COS sale to find some good basics for a friendly price. My List:
- a good skirt
- a pair of pants
- a blouse
- shoes, maybe some boots or brogues
- repetto flats. And a new bag, which is still impossible to find.

After two very busy weeks, I finally have some time to work on my blog.

In those two weeks, I had been very inspired by fabrics. I love the idea that fabrics can make a major impact on the feel you want to express with your clothes. It's amazing that one specific fabric can change or create a look.

Extra: Interview with Lucas Ossendrijver, the importance of fabric:

Scott Schuman: Before a show, how nervous are you that you’ve made the right decisions?

Lucas Ossendrijver: I’m somebody who doubts quite a lot. In the beginning of a season, I follow a certain intuition. For me, that’s the only thing I really trust. I start with a feeling, I start with an emotion; I have this dream in my head that I start to visualize and it’s all about communication. Whether it’s the team who works with me or whether it’s a fabric manufacturer, I try to explain what I want. With fabrics, for me, I really have to see them, I have to touch them and then I know whether they’re right or not.

SS: So you always start with fabric?

LO: Yes, and then I want to make the fabric speak. You have to find the right colours. Every fabric has its own colour and they’re all different. There’s never the same navy for every fabric. There are always tonal differences, which I think makes colour much richer in the end.

SS: Your colours are incredibly interesting and you don’t do typical colour combinations. I watch your runway shows and think, “Oh, wow, that’s great.” So it’s fabric, then colour?

LO: Then the shape at the same time, actually. It’s a bit like cooking: you have all of these ingredients and you sort of intuitively find the right way to make them work.

SS: Do you find that more freeing – that you can change from season to season because you don’t have one subscribed muse?

LO: I think it’s about men in general and what they need. Sometimes people need to wear a suit, sometimes people need to wear a warm winter coat. It’s about finding solutions that are individual – not standard.

The last couple of months I've been searching for the perfect bag. But to find the perfect bag is a hard job. Lots of bags aren't practical at all, or the price is too high for a student like me. I like these too bags from Zara, they go with everything, but then again the problem is that the quality isn't good at all, for a price that is high for Zara. I was wondering, in Paris I see le cabas from Vanessa Bruno all the time. It is the right size, the quality seems good and it looks nice. But what do you think, as my readers with a good sense of style, of the bag? I just don't know what to think of it. I need a second opinion. (Lately I look at any kinds of bags, so that might explain this curiosity)

I'm finally back to 'normal' again after a week of misery. I've been very ill, also in Paris. So the trip didn't end up that great but I survived haha.

Yesterday I bought a new jacket. I saw this very nice jacket(Isabel Marant/Chanel style) at esprit but I doubted about the colour and the price. It was in dark blue and first I wanted it in black, which they didn't have, but I thought: this jacket can look great with the right (simple) colours. It looks great in combination with black trousers and a white blouse. So today I already wore my dream outfit haha.

Yesterday I was still in Paris and now I'm already back home looking at pictures from the wonderful trip. Paris is just one of the most inspiring city's in the world. A few highlights: Musée Eugene Delacroix, Jardin du Luxembourg et Saint-Germain de Prés. At first (before I actually was in Paris) I didn't want to go shopping because I already had buyed a lot during my summer vacation.But I just couldn't resist. So I think I can add something more to the list: The chloé- and repetto boutique, my new pair of heels and all the people who gave me this great inspiration for fall. This summer I am going to visit a museum in Paris with my family. I can choose which museum I want to visit. I have selected three museums. I can only choose one museum so maybe you can help me.

1) Centre Pompidou, Pierre Soulages Exhibition. The Centre Pompidou is putting on a large scale retrospective to celebrate the work of the greatest painter on the current French scene, Pierre Soulages. As he nears his 90th birthday, Soulages, the "painter of black and light", is recognised as one of abstract art's major figures.The exhibition looks back over more than 60 years of painting and offers a new reading of the artist's oeuvre, with the emphasis on the more recent developments in his work. The exhibition brings together over a hundred major works dating from 1946 to the present day, which display the dynamism and diversity of his constantly evolving approach.

2) Musée Rodin. The museum is housed in eighteenth-century mansion, called the Hôtel Biron. Rodin (1840-1917) lived and worked in this house from 1908 until his death. In The museum and surrounding garden can you see a large number of works by the famous sculptor. His most famous works are present here. Besides a large number of images, there are sketches, drawings and paintings by Rodin present. There is also an exhibition called corps et decors. Where about 150 items will be on display at the art space, including iconic pieces such as Rodin's The Gates of Hell and several vases, drawings and sculptures.

3) Musée Eugène Delacroix. Eugène Delacroix is numbered among the greatest and most influential of French painters. He is most often classified as an artist of the Romantic school. His best known painting is La Liberté guidant le peuple(which is in the Louvre museum). Musée Eugene Delacroix was once Delacroix’s home when he worked in nearby Saint Sulpice. It showcases works covering the greater part of the artist’s career and addresses many different themes. The artist’s apartment and studio are open to visitors, including a private garden just a stone’s throw from one of the most romantic spots in Paris, place Furstenberg.

Last weak I watched Le Fils de L'épicier. It is about a boy and a girl who live in Paris but they move to the Provence. Antoine(the boy) must assume the lifestyle he thought he had shed, because his father is ill. It is a good French movie, about love and the French countryside.

Unbelievable. One of my favourite brands, named COS had these pictures on their website. I check their site once or twice a year so I might be a little late with these. But I wanted to show it anyway, because the weather here is extremely hot and then I think we all need a COS clothingpiece. We all know that their fabric is fantastic and somtimes when I wear my favourite grey top( from COS of couse), I feel like I'm not wearing anything. So isn't that what you really need in summer?

Second thing, I need to tell. I finally found the perfect name for my blog: En voyage.

I wanted a new name for a long time and this name is simple, basic and classic haha.

Tuesday, at the Burberry Prorsum show, I was seated across Mary-Kate Olsen. Next to her, Kate Hudson was joking with Rachel Zoe across the catwak and Kristen Stewart was watching all the hysteria around. Mary-Kate, dressed all in black, hiding behind giant sunglasses and a Mona Lisa smile, was totally still.

Scott says to me, “What does that mean? I just don’t get it. What’s the point of the big sunglasses? Does she have an eye problem? Is she releasing her own line of sunglasses? Does she not want us to recognize her?
And I say to him, “Maybe it’s just because she doesn’t want to make eye contact? That way, she’s got a little bit of peace?”
But at the same time, I kept thinking, it’s weird. When you get all ready for public appearances, it’s to be seen. Even if yeah, if she plays hard to get, there’ll be lots of curiosity. In the end, maybe it’s because she understand the whole game better than….

Luckily, the show started. The lights were dimmed and I forgot all about Mary-Kate Olsen.
